Jerry Wayne Sparks

Jerry Wayne Sparks entered the gates of Heaven on Friday September 16, 2011. He was born October 3, 1947 in Houston, Texas. He was retired from Chevron and Checkpoint Pumps in Pasadena. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Port Acres. Jerry was a decorated Vietnam Veteran having served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. He will be laid to rest with full Military Honors. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Manon and George McFarland, brother Johnny Sparks and sister Lisa McFarland Prosperie. He is survived by one son Greg Sparks and one daughter Kimberly Sparks who is serving in the U.S. Navy and two grandchildren. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. A visitation for family and friends will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday September 20 with the funeral to follow beginning at 11:00 am at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Brother Jeff Bell Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Port Acres will officiate at the funeral. In lieu of flowers friends wishing to make memorial contributions may send them to the American Heart Association.
