Jerry Steven "Steve" Treaster My loving husband and best friend, Jerry Steven Treaster, 54 of Lago Vista, Texas went to his Lord Jesus on December 2, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Rhonda Babin Treaster and his precious chihuahua, Elle, of Lago Vista, Texas. He is also survived by his mother, Elizabeth Goeddertz Treaster of Port Neches; his half-sisters Mona Johnson and husband Dave of Nederland, and Kathy Stanton and husband Mark of Groves. He is also survived by his half-brothers Jeff and Mark Bell, and special relatives Jerry and Rita Bell of Mountalba, Texas. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Jack Edward Treaster. Steve was born in Port Arthur, Texas on August 11, 1960. He was the proud son of Jack and Elizabeth Treaster. He graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School and Lamar University in Beaumont. Steve had many hobbies and activities that he dearly loved. He was very proud to be a Mason and was a member of the Port Neches Masonic Lodge # 1163. One of his great talents was cooking BBQ. He was known far and wide for his pulled pork and ribs, and folks everywhere enjoyed them every chance they could. Steve also enjoyed buying and selling cars so much that his wife, Rhonda, teased him about nothing being sacred in the driveway. Steve adored the Texas Hill Country, and his favorite place to go with Rhonda and friends was Hancock Park in Lago Vista. He loved swimming in and boating on Lake Travis and would spend many afternoons cooling off in the water. His zest for life was off the charts, and his personality won lasting friends throughout his life. Steve was diagnosed with the insidious disease of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. He fought it hard, but had to have a bi-lateral lung transplant at University Hospital in San Antonio. After many months of being hospitalized, he decided it was time to see his Lord and Savior. Steve wanted these special friends to be his honorary pallbearers: Ralph Russell, Ernie Francois, Darrell Touchstone, Dave Bottoms, Don Barthlow, Tom Rosenberger, Glenn Deitiker, Kim Cormier, Derwood Carpenter, Jim Zimmerman, Sidney Henry, Danny Outler, Kirk Dickey, Nate Carson, and Hal Landry. Also a special thanks to cousins Terry Cormier and husband Kim and Brenda Farris and husband Glenn who were always there for him. A Memorial Service will be held at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches on Saturday, December 6, 2014. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. and the service will be at 11:00 a.m.
