Jesse Joseph Sawyer, 16, of Groves, Texas passed away Monday, April 25, 2011. Jesse was born December 18, 1994 in Port Arthur, Texas to Bert C. Sawyer, Jr. and Nanette LaCour Sawyer. He was a 10th grade student at Bob Hope Charter School and was a Boy Scout working towards his Eagle Scout. He was preceded in death by his father, Bert C. Sawyer, Jr.; grandparents, Donald and Frances LaCour; and grandmother, Mary T. Sawyer. Survivors include his mother, Nanette LaCour Sawyer of Groves; sister, Summer Jones and husband, Robert of Groves; two brothers, Bert C. Sawyer, III and wife, Suzanne of Groves, and Francis Alexander Sawyer of Groves; grandfather, Bert C. Sawyer, Sr.; nieces, Annabelle and Kiley; nephews, Brandon, Austin, Mason, Christian, Matthew and Christopher; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral services will be at 5:00 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Groves with Reverend Charles Miller officiating. I was so sorry to hear of the death of this young man.People should wake up and realize drinking and driving ruins many lives including taking away this fine man's life. I am so sorry for all of his family and friends loss-may you rest in peace Jesse Joseph Sawyer.

nannette my prayers are with you , i enjoyed visiting and seeing jesse and alex coming to see erney and talking about scouting stuff. We now have 2 angels to watch and take of us. i know erney and jesse are up there running the new scout troop together. anytime you want to talk or just get out of the house please call me. love melba

Summer and Family, I am so saddened to hear about the loss of your brother. Know that your whole family is in our thoughts and prayers. We are just devistated to learn of the tragic death of Jesse Sawyer. We knew his dad and have known his grandparents very well, for a long time. His loss will be felt for a lifetime in his family. Our prayers are with you all. We mostly pray for God's peace for the whole family. Again, words can't express just how sad we are for you all.
