Jessie Vernell Bodden, 90, of Groves, Texas passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016. Jessie was born February 5, 1926 in Mount Pleasant, Grand Cayman to Reginald Parsons and Effie Henning Parsons. She was a resident of this area for 64 years and member of Providence Church. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Fred Parsons, Osley Parsons, Henry Parsons, Brenton Parsons; and sister, Effie Henning. Survivors include her husband Kenneth L. Bodden of Groves, TX; three sons, Kenneth Bodden, Jr. of Groves, TX, Larry Bodden of Groves, TX, Steve Bodden and his wife Julie of Lafayette, LA; brother, Locksley Parsons and his wife Daphne of Groves, TX; two grandchildren, Steven Bodden II and his wife Crystal, and Dillon Bodden; great-grandson, Thomas Bodden. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Dr. Clay Faulk officiating. Burial will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
