When he loved, he loved with all of his heart. There was plenty to go around. I will miss being able to call him after a Cowboys game. I will miss that genuine smile. If he was anything, he was sincere. Thanks for loving us all, including my husband, for whom you treated as one of your own, & my daughter, of whom you seemed to think was absolutely perfect. Love you always, Grandpa!

I remember the time when we used to go fishing and I got a fish hook stuck in my eye at the lake house on his boat when I was 7 years old. I was screaming so loud and without panic he managed to get the hook out of my eye and immediately cracked jokes to make me feel better. He was such a good grandpa. From racing in john Deere tractors to teaching him how to ride a skateboard when I was younger. His age never phased him. He was always a youngen at heart. I love and miss him so much and I am glad he is finally at peace now. -Taylor Loyd (great-granddaughter)
