Jimmie L. Jenkinson, 46, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014. Jimmie was born November 27, 1967 in Port Arthur, Texas to John Wesley Jenkinson, Sr. and Marian Jones Jenkinson. He was a lifelong area resident and retired deputy from Jefferson County Sheriffs Department with over 20 years of service. He loved fishing, going out in his boat, to the beach, eating crawfish, traveling and was also very athletic and a great cook. He especially enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Chloe. Jimmie was preceded in death by his father, John W. Jenkinson, Sr. Survivors include his mother, Marian Jenkinson of Port Arthur; his daughter, Chloe Suzanne Jenkinson of Port Neches; three brothers, John Jenkinson, Jr. and wife Mariselis of Puerto Rico, Kimmie Jenkinson of Port Arthur, and Randall Jenkinson of Tyler. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Friendship Baptist Church in Groves followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Travis Cox and Reverend Wilton Golmon officiating. Burial will be in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Friends wishing to make contributions toward funeral expenses may send them to Gulf Credit Union in memory of Jimmie L. Jenkinson.

After I retired, I lost 2 good friends who worked for JCSO. Jimmy was one them. So sad to hear about him. Wished he would have just reached out to so many friends he had. All of your family are in our prayers.
