Jimmie LaV Thomson Jimmie LaV Thomson, 96, of Groves passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Brookdale Dowlen Oaks Assisted Living in Beaumont, Texas. She was born on January 2, 1920 in Zavalla, Texas to James E. and Norah Mott Colwell. Jimmie had lived in this area for 71 years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Groves. She had been a volunteer with the Ladies Auxiliary at Park Place Hospital and The Medical Center of Southeast Texas since January 1975. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Charles Miller of First Baptist Church of Groves officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. in Zavalla Cemetery in Zavalla, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday morning before the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Jimmie was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Thomson, son, Michael A. Thomson and grandson Chad A. Thomson. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Hopson and husband Charles of Lufkin, two sons, John E. Thomson and wife Linda of Hockley and Jimmy L. Thomson and wife Dorothy of Orange, eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
