Jimmie Ruth Levingston Walls

Jimmie Ruth Levingston Walls 80, of Baytown, Texas, formerly of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away on April 8, 2025. Born on February 3, 1945, in Dallas, Texas, Jimmie lived a life filled with compassion, dedication, love for others, particularly children, and an infectious love for the Lord.

A Licensed Vocational Nurse by profession, Jimmie worked for many years at Doctors Hospital where she touched the lives of many with her gentle care and unwavering support. Her commitment to nursing was complemented by her devotion to her community, as she loved working with children and nurturing them in church settings.

Jimmie was proud of her educational accomplishments, having received her associate's degree in nursing from Dallas Baptist College. In her personal life she embraced a range of interests, from taking day trips across Texas with her husband to cherishing her love for horses and dogs and enjoying a good game of golf in her younger years. Music also played a significant role in her life; she was a devoted member of Grace Church of the Nazarene, where she shared her talent by playing the piano and organ.

Jimmie's commitment to her family was evident in her role as a caretaker for her mother, her beloved husband Robert Earl Walls, and her best friend, Mary Pardue. She poured her heart into caring for those around her and found great joy in the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jimmie “GG” is survived by her cherished grandchildren, Jenny and Cody Royer, James and Kailana Walls, Alyssa Walls, John Hankins, Scott Wilcox, Erica and Andy Nguyen, Steven Baque, along with nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Agnes Levingston, her husband, Robert Earl Walls, her brother, Charles Levingston, and her stepchildren Robert “Rob” Walls, Johnny Walls, and Helen Wilcox.

Jimmie's memory will be honored by family and friends who recognized her as a compassionate caretaker and a devoted grandmother. A gathering of family and friends will be held on April 12, 2025, from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 4:00 PM; both taking place at Melancon Levingston in Groves - located at 5601 39th St, Groves, TX 77619. A family graveside service will take place at a later date at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
