Jimmy Underwood 73, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019. He was born in Seymour, Texas on October 16, 1945 to the late, R.J. Underwood and Amy Boatman Underwood.

Jimmy served as a security guard for Motiva for 30 years, and was also a former police officer in both Nederland and Port Arthur. He also served as a member of the Masonic Lodge of Nederland.

Those left to cherish Jimmy’s memory are his wife, Leona Underwood of Nederland; his sons, Ronnie Underwood, and his wife Dayna, of Bridge City, and Jimmy Underwood, and his wife Joni, of Nederland; his grandchildren, Merissa Stutes, Randy Underwood, Savanna Porter, Brandon Lovelace, and Blake Lovelace; his great-grandchildren, Tucker Harden, Brinlee Lovelace and Sara Scott; and his sisters, Barbara Shew and Zola Enger. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. with a Masonic service to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Jimmy was my supervisor back in my Security Guard days at Motiva. He treated me as one of his kids. Made sure nothing happened. He was always smiling and there if I needed. He will be missed by many. Prayers for the family in this difficult time.
