Jimmy R. Williams, 78, of Groves, Texas passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015. Jimmy was born September 15, 1937 in Port Arthur, Texas to Ulysses Ira Williams, Sr. and Nancy Charping Williams. He was a lifelong area resident and retired from the City of Groves as the Drainage Superintendent after 38 years of service. Jimmy was a member of Lake Bayou Hunting Club and proudly served in the U. S. Air Force. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Mary Jackson and Geraldean Wilson; one brother, Ira Williams. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Patsy Williams of Groves, TX; niece, Nancy Seegers of Groves, TX; sister, Martha Webre of Melbourne, FL; brother-in-law, Jack Wilson and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Buddy and Helen White of Groves, TX; also numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2015 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Charles Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p. m. at the funeral home.
