Joan Katherine Silva, 87, of Nederland, Texas, formerly of California, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019. She was born in Newport, Road Island on July 9, 1931 to the late Manual Silva and Adeline Garcia Silva.
Those left to cherish Joan’s memory are her daughters, Jackie Marich of Nederland, Linda Medinas of Oakland, California, and Tina Carrabello of Oakland, California; 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and loving pets, Tequila and Khloe. She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Clyde Medinas; her sister, Mary Smith; and her loving pet, Sandy.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Interment will follow at a later date at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, California.
