Joan Waites, 81, of Groves, Texas passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018. Joan was born August 19, 1937 in Fort Sumner, New Mexico to Ivan Hezekiah Gray and Leona Kaylor Gray. She was a resident of Groves for 70 years and a member of Gulf Avenue Church of Christ. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and four sisters. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, James Waits of Groves; three daughters, Felicia Pulito and husband Brian of Groves, Robin Russell and husband Doyle of Ranger, and Deborah Lee and husband Joseph of Groves; sister, Merl Patterson of Port Neches; four grandchildren, Kimberly Pulito, Jerry Russell, Jacob Russell, and Nathan Lee; and seven great-grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Mr. Joseph Lee officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
