JoAnn Gertrude Bledsoe, 91, of Groves, Texas passed away Friday, November 20, 2020.
JoAnn was born August 6, 1929 in Port Arthur, Texas to Raymond C. Gish and Bessie Davis Gish. She was a lifelong area resident and member of Friendship Baptist Church.
JoAnn was a loving mother and enjoyed taking care of her children. She and the love of her life, Douglas Bledsoe, Sr. were both avid Astros and Cowboys fans and enjoyed traveling especially their trip to Hawaii.
Jo Ann was a member of the Port Arthur Chapter of Eastern Star, Groves Beautification Committee, and also volunteered at St. Mary Hospital and the Museum of the Gulf Coast in Port Arthur.
She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Bledsoe, Sr.; daughter, Karen D'Ann Carter; brother, Ray Gish; and grandson, Timothy John Carter.
Survivors include her daughters, Jo Lynn Scott and husband Brad of Colorado, and Leslie Dawn Jackson and husband Randy of Bridge City; sons, Douglas B. Bledsoe Jr. and wife Nancy, Michael Paul Bledsoe, and Daniel Brady Bledsoe all of Groves; grandchildren, Tisha Rawls, Douglas Bledsoe III and wife Brandy, Madeline Foster and husband Justin, David Bledsoe and wife Shea, Chelsea Meeks and husband Scott, Ciara Honeycutt and husband William, Wyatt Scott, Dallas Scott, Chey Jackson, Brantley Spruell and husband Seth, Mallory Stevens, Mackenzi Bria and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
