We are so sorry for the loss of Jody, she was a very important person in Butch's, my girls, and grand children's lives. She was so talented, and shared her beautiful work with us all,, she did this in pictures of the babies for us all, beautiful cards, and Christmas ornaments for us... We talked of us both being survivors, and being strong women. She will truly be missed...Charlotte, and Tee.

I will miss Jody. She was a warm, caring woman. She was a warrior and showed us ladies that lunched once a month what true strength is. Her bravery and convictions were visible at all times. To say the simple words we will miss her is a great understatement. During her lifetime she achieved much more than a lot of us will. I know she has gone on to a better place and isn't suffering. None the less I know her family will grieve. But I hope their strength and beliefs will make it a little less painful. My prayers and thoughts to all her family.

I still can't believe that Jody has gone to her heavenly reward. She was such a talented person and shared her talents with her family and friends. My husband, Gil Hernandez, asked her to help him when he started Mardi Gras in Port Arthur. She did not hesitate and helped make it what it is today. Rest in Peace, Jody. You gave us your best.

Resilience has a story, It has not a face or body or gender- Resilience comes from anything that allows us to learn or lean on each other. It enables us to rebound from hardships, to embrace what makes life worth living -even in the face of overwhelming odds. My mother told us "What other choice do you have but to handle what comes your way" We come from a family of Strong-Determined-Resilient Women - Our men are Honorable, Devoted husbands and fathers. A disease I shall not give credit by it's name took her body but NEVER did it break her spirit or her will to live -Her legacy of devotion will continue through her children and grandchildren. I share these words written to me by Our Aunt Jo-I am with you always-I am the breeze that kisses your cheeks as you walk in March winds, the warmth that covers you from the cold-the strength for all your tomorrows-I am the laughter within your hearts-I Am the Light That will lead you to God's Heaven. My spirit rests within you- love Aunt Susan
