I am not sure where to really start. Joe started out as a co-worker, and a rescue team mentor to me. Then quickly became someone who earned the title of brother. Just incase someone might not know what that means to Old School Bikers. Brother is someone who has earned your respect, and you know that you can always count on them. They are your chosen family. This is one of many lessons Joe tought me. You can say that Joe took me under his wing. When I bought my first Harley he started to school me in what being a biker was all about. When I went through my divorce Joe was always there and had some tough love for me when I needed it. Then after Joe met my current wife Rachel she was forever known by him as "China Doll" and once again he had some kind of advice on how to take care of "China Doll". Tonight I really wanted to ride in honor of Joe but with the high chance of rain and high winds I chose not to. Some might call me a wimp or a fair weather rider but I chose to honor him in a different way. You see Joe had seen me do all kinds of crazy stuff on my Harley. He wouldn't ever say you shouldn't do that. He would just smile and say "Little Brother just remember. There are bold riders, and there are old riders. But there are no old bold riders." So in Joe's honor I chose to be a old rider. Rest easy my friend and I love you Brother!

Very sad & shocking news indeed. You were a good man Joe, loved & respected by all those who knew you. What a grand group gathered on the other side to meet you. Ride High & REST IN PEACE, you will not be forgotten... God Bless you Jan, I pray God will give you strength to help your heart heal, I am just around the corner if you need anything at all. My convalescence to all of your children, especially Eisha, after the loss of her mom a few months ago. May God carry you all during this tragic time.

Goodbye to my lifelong friend, and travelling buddy, Habanero Joe Rogers. We grew up on the same street from grade school on. Though we were separated by space and time, sometimes over years, when we got back together it was as if we were never apart. All of our travels across the country were filled with adventure and fun, spanning over 45 years. We never had a cross word, and had mutual respect. I always admired your ability to have never met a stranger, and were kind and gracious to everyone! You were always a character, and brought a smile to many. You were thoughtful, and wise, and gave great council to me. My thoughts and sympathy, are with Jan, and your family for their loss! I will miss you always! Love! Live to Ride! Adios!
