Joe A. Mason, 81, of Groves, Texas passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016. Joe was born August 8, 1935 in Ensley, Alabama to Charles Edward Mason and Hattie Normand Mason. He was a resident of Groves for 44 years and retired from Fina as an operator. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Knights of Columbus, and OCAW Local 4-23. Joe proudly served in the U. S. Marines from 1954-1957 during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joseph A. "Tiger" Mason; sister, Eunice Bamonti; brothers, C. E. Mason, L. C. Mason, and A. C. Mason. Survivors include his grandsons, Joseph Arthur Mason and Brad Arthur Mason; great-grandson, Kooper Mason. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 12 noon, Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
