I am saddened to see this and then to find out Yolanda had passed also. We lived across the street from Joe and Yolanda when we lived in Port Arthur. Both were wonderful neighbors and good friends. Please know that you are in our prayers. Rusty Cuniff

Joe... what can I say... My heart is so broken knowing you and Yaya are no longer here with us. I will never forget all of the good times our family has had together. I will always remember the times coming to the house and practice with dad and the rest of the gang, the good bbq's at your house and everything in between. I know mom and dad was there greeting you and Yaya to join the party. I will pray for Renee and Teresa and her family to have the strength to continue through this life without y'all and keep your memories alive. I will never ever forget your big bear hug and that laugh.. Till we meet again my brother. Love you.

So many childhood memories of growing up with the Salazars... from grade school and on into our high school years. When our paths would cross later in life it was always good to catch up. Those conversations usually led back to our years at BHS . Wanted to share a few "throw backs" in time. I had forgotten that Joe and Bobby were drumming 🥁 along side each other in marching band at BHS . This pic of Joe also shows him sitting next to another good friend Kent Thompson who passed away not real long ago. Love this pic of Joe at Crockett Junior High... several other childhood friends on this page ☺️. Praying for your families and knowing God's hand is placed on each of you as you heal during this unimaginable time of grief. Love and God Bless each of you. Yolanda (Lopez ) and Hector DeLaRosa.

Joe was a friend I always enjoyed being around. He was always smiling and in great spirits. Always positive about everything in life no matter the circumstances. Joe was like a brother from another mother. I'll never forget our times together as fellow musicians. The guy could play the drums like no other. Always perfect timing! One time I remember him singing back up and he surprised us all with his skills as a musician. We were much younger back then but was really passionate about our music, especially Joe. My condolences to all his family and friends. Joe's time on this planet was a gift to us all. And to all who knew Joe we are all blessed to have known him. His wife, Yolanda, is also in our prayers for her family and friends. My God bless and remember these sweet souls and their memories be a blessing.

Like everyone else, I will always remember your great personality and great smile. Back in the day, the business office at SWBT was hectic but you made it bearable. You were a pleasure to work with and fun to play softball with. This world has lost a great soul.

I will miss them dearly! Such sweet and loving people. I'll never forget that during the ice storm in 1997, our neighborhood was devastated. Joe and Yolanda grilled food on the pit and went neighbor to neighbor passing out food. I'll never forget introducing Yolanda to Dr. Patterson. Dr. Patterson complimented her every time she saw me. They'll be forever in my heart.
