Joe Edwin Welch, 71, of Orange, Texas passed away November 20, 2020. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on June 25, 1949 to the late Edwin Lee Welch and Cary Odessa Crager Welch. Joe proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. After serving in the military, Joe was employed with Mobil Refinery where he retired. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nederland as well as the Cosmopolitan Masonic Lodge #872 in Port Arthur, Texas. Joe was a devoted husband, loving father, and was truly a caring person.
Those left to cherish Joe’s memory are his wife of 45 years, Marylyn Welch of Orange; his daughters Crystal Welch Hancock and husband Chris of Nederland, and Paisley Welch Ware and husband James of Port Neches; grandchildren, Maegan Elysabeth Ware of Chicago, IL, Madeline Grace Phillips of Nederland, Jansen Drake Ware of Port Neches, and Luke Christopher Hancock of Nederland; He is also survived by a host of family and friends that he loved dearly. Joe is preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas on Monday November 23, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas, with Pastor Pat Cammarata officiating. A private family committal service will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland, Texas.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Garett Roy and Carli Nelson who went above and beyond to take special care of Joe. The family would also like to thank Pulse Home Health and Texas Total Care Hospice for their services.
