John Charles “Pat” Patrick Adams, 65, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Christus-St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born on May 29, 1949 in New York to the late John Nicholas Adams and Doris Mae Dufrense. Pat served honorably in our U.S. Navy from 1968-1972 during the Vietnam War Conflict. He was a member of the Rudolph Lambert American Legion Post #7 in Port Arthur. Pat was also a retired Police Officer with the Port Arthur Police Department with over 32 years of service.
Pat is survived by his wife, Stephanie Adams of Port Arthur; daughters, Kimberlie Adams Hebert of Port Arthur, and Stacy Michelle Meadows and husband, Michael of Nederland; sons, Scott Adams and wife, Bridget of Port Neches, and Michael Adams of Port Arthur; grandchildren, Ashley Hebert, Joseph Hebert Jr., Jason Adams, and Emily Adams; brother, Ronald Adams of Fort Pierce, FL; and sisters, Lori Emerson and husband, George of Fort Pierce, FL, and Brenda Green of Fort Pierce, FL. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Victoria Bennett, and step-mother, May Adams.
Funeral Services will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Douglas Caldwell and Pastor Carl Durden officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association, or to the Rudolph Lambert American Legion Post #7 in Port Arthur.
