John Alexander Wise, Jr., 91, of Nederland, Texas passed away April 1, 2011 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. He was born April 29, 1919 in Woodworth, Louisiana to the late John Alexander, Sr. and Anna Brown Wise. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland, Usher Society, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and the VFW of Nederland. He served his country proudly in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He retired from Texaco Refiner y in Port Arthur as a heavy equipment instructor and was a volunteer with the Nederland Fire Department.A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Melancon39s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., Msgr. Dan Malain celebrant. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Wise of Nederland son, Mike Wise of Groves 5 grandchildren 3 greatgrandchildren and special friend, Mary. He is preceded in death by his children39s mother, Irene Wise parents and son, James Wise.
