John M. Bigelow

John M. Bigelow, 81, of Groves, Texas passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Cypress Glen Nursing Home. John was born November 8, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to Charles E. Bigelow and Leone Carpenter Bigelow. He was a resident of Groves for 54 years and retired from Texaco as a machinist after 30 years of service. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Groves and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Reserve. Survivors include his daughter, Pat Jordan and husband, Bobby of Groves, TX; son, John R. Bigelow and wife, Susan of Port Neches, TX; four grandchildren, Brad Bigelow and wife, Melissa, Heather LeBlanc and husband, Terry, Justin Jordan and wife, Crystal, Jennifer Brown and husband, Adam; four great-grandchildren, Haiden Bigelow, Jonah LeBlanc, Kennedy Jordan and Faryn Jordan. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 16, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Groves with Dr. Joe Worley officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m. at the funeral home.
