John Wayne Boudreaux, 82, of Nederland, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, at the Cascades of Port Arthur. Born on May 10, 1942, in Groves, Texas, John lived a life rich in dedication to his family, his work, and his passions.
Throughout his life, John was a skilled machinist, a profession he embraced with both pride and commitment. He poured his heart into his career, always striving to support his loved ones. This devotion to his family went beyond his profession; John instilled values in his children, teaching them the importance of safety, respect, and responsibility regarding firearms and all other aspects of life. His legacy of love and guidance continues to resonate through his family.
John was a passionate member of the National Rifle Association and spent much of his leisure time enjoying the great outdoors. He loved hunting and made it a fond tradition to teach his son the skills involved in this treasured pastime. Saturdays were dedicated to attending gun shows, while Sundays found him on the golf course, where he cherished the camaraderie shared amidst friendly competition.
In his younger years, John worked at a movie theater, which ignited a lifelong love for cinema. He had an impressive knowledge of movies and actors, often recalling memorable performances. His favorite actors included John Wayne, Charlton Heston, and Clint Eastwood, whose films he enjoyed watching, continuing to appreciate the art of storytelling through cinema.
John is lovingly remembered by his beloved daughters, Marie Nichols and her husband, Dan, of Nederland, Texas, and Wendy Vickers, also of Nederland. His son, John Wade Boudreaux, carries forward his father’s legacy. John's deep affection for his family is further highlighted by his grandchildren, James Eric Case, Megan Jane Daley, and Corbett Daniel Vickers, along with his great-grandchildren, Dustin Huff, Ashlynn Boudreaux, Bryce Boudreaux, Carson Walker, Addyson Daley, Raylynn Daley, and Rowan Case. He is also survived by a niece, two nephews and a sister-in-law.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Edna "Jane" Boudreaux, whose memory remains cherished. He was also preceded by his parents, Wilda Cecile (Dorsey) Boudreaux and Sidney Joseph Boudreaux, and by his two older brothers, Jerry Boudreaux and Thomas Boudreaux, and one niece.
