John Brunner Crutchfield, Jr., 95, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2010. He was born June 11, 1915 in Marshall, Texas to John Brunner Crutchfield and Emmie Carrie Riddle Crutchfield, he was the oldest of two brothers and one sister. He was a lifelong Port Arthur resident and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and received a certificate for Boiler House Engineering from International Correspondence School. He retired from Gulf Oil after 42 years of service as a power plant engineer. He was a member of Kleinwood Church of Christ and former member of Stonegate and Pear Ridge Church of Christ. John married Grace Lucille Rizer Crutchfield on December 5, 1933 they were married for 55 years until her death in January of 1989. John and Lucille had one son, James Carl Crutchfield and were very close. After the death of Lucille, John married Ann McCann and was married to her for 11 years. John was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; and his brother, Ted Crutchfield; sister, Helen Crutchfield Cappell; and his grandson, Michael Crutchfield. Survivors include his son, James Carl Crutchfield; granddaughter, Kimberly Crutchfield Steed and her husband, Kent Steed of Tomball, TX; brother, Pete Crutchfield of Groves, TX; four great-grandchildren, Karrie Steed Everett and her husband, Justin Everett of College Station, TX, Michael Crutchfield of Bastrop, TX, Kylie Steed and Keryn Steed of Tomball, TX. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas with Mr. Jeff Trahan officiating and Mr. David Garrett assisting. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday evening from 4:00p.m.-6:00p.m. at the funeral home.
