John Wesley Ferguson, 70, a dedicated laboratory technician who served at Huntsman Corporation for over forty years, has sadly passed away. John's unexpected departure on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Hermann Memorial Hospital in the Medical Center has left a void in the hearts of many.
Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on September 29, 1953, John was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to his career. His tenure at Huntsman Corporation not only showcased his professional dedication but also earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers.
Outside of work, John's passions were reflected in his love for golfing and hunting. He found solace and joy in these hobbies, especially relishing the serene beauty of the countryside.
John is survived by his loving wife of six years, Haiyan (Zhou) Ferguson of Lumberton, Texas. He leaves behind a legacy through his children, John Ferguson and wife Veronica of Austin, Texas; Jason Ferguson and wife Misty of Port Neches, Texas; as well as Kevin Yuxiang Mao of Lumberton, Texas. He leaves behind four grandchildren, Emma Ferguson, Ethan Ferguson, Bella Ferguson, and Blake Ferguson.
In addition to his immediate family, John is also mourned by his sister, Sherry Devine Prichard and husband Marlon of Fort Worth, Texas; along with his niece, Grace Prichard.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Nelta Ann (Bryan) Devine and Zee Floyd Devine.
The memory of John Wesley Ferguson will forever be treasured by those whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace knowing that he was loved and respected by all who knew him.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Memorial Service to begin at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland.
