John T. Hardy John T. Hardy, 93, of Groves, died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Magnolia Manor in Groves. He was born May 6, 1917 in San Augustine, Texas to Joseph Hardy and Eleanor Tinsley Hardy. John had lived in Groves for 65 years and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Port Arthur. He retired from Texaco as a machinist. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. John is survived by his daughter; Sandra Ann Griffin and husband, David of Houston, son; Jerry Boyd Hardy and wife, Jean of Port Arthur, sister; Maurine Lott of Humble, and four grandchildren; Erin Nicholson and husband, John, Kim Griffin, Jason Hardy and wife, Lori, and Jeffrey Hardy. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Magnolia Manor for their care and concern during his stay there.
