John Allen "Cuz" Kilgore, 82, of Kirbyville, Texas passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Cuz was born on November 7, 1929 to the late Velma and Sauder Kilgore. He had one brother, Earl Barron who was killed serving his country in the Korean War. He was a 1948 graduate of Nederland High School. After high school he attended the Pipefitter Apprentice School and worked as a pipefitter until his retirement. He was proud of being a lifelong member of Pipefitters Local 195 where he was known as "Shorty 2". Cuz was an avid high school football fan and followed and supported the Kirbyville Wildcats as well as the Jasper Bulldogs. Always an animal lover he had a special place in his heart for horses and his dogs, especially Gus. He was faithful to his Brookshire Brothers "breakfast club" where he and his friends enjoyed sharing stories, true or untrue. Cuz was extremely generous and loving. He took enormous pride in his family. Cuz is survived by his cousin, Jeff Greenway and wife, Sue of Port Neches, Cassie Guy and husband Greg of Port Neches, Carolyn Williams of Tomball and a very special neighbor and friend, Ray Cochran of Kirbyville, and many other friends and neighbors. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
