John (Nam) Hong Nguyen, 67, of Nederland, Texas passed away, surrounded by his loved ones, on February 26th.

John worked to help support the SE Texas Vietnamese community as a tax and business advisor, helping his community build a future and a home for their families. He was always willing to sacrifice his time, talent, and treasure for others. He will be remembered as a loving father, a generous grandfather, and a leader for his family and community. 

Survivors include the mother of his children, Kim; children, his son Tony and his wife Kim and their children, Mikayla, Oliver, Charlotte, and Claire; his daughter Phu and her husband Nathan and their children, Ethan and Lily; his son Duy and his wife Amanda and their children, Leighton, Jordyn, Logan, and Madyson;  his son Tan; his daughter Ha and her husband Kade and their daughter Sage; his daughter Lan and her husband Chris and their son Beckham; and his son Phong; and his brothers, Dinh, Max, Damien; and his sisters, Mai, Anna, Susie, Marie, Daphne and Scholastica.

He was preceded in death by his Dad, Ly Vinh Nguyen and his Mom, Chat Thi Tran; his grand children, Maddon and Grayson Nguyen.  

A Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2024, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland, Texas with Visitation to follow at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2024, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas. 

Serving as Pallbearers will be Tony Nguyen, Duy Nguyen, Tan Nguyen, Phong Nguyen, Nathan Noel,Chris Lee, Kade Parker and Ethan Noel.
