John Edward Oubre

Born November 1st, 1951 and passed August 3, 2024. John is survived by his daughter Jordan Wilson, granddaughter Collins Wilson, and sisters Marlene Durke, Linda Borel, Carole Reeves and their extended families. Those who had the opportunity to know John knew he had a large sense of humor and loved as much as he laughed. He was a hard worker, working at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant in Glen Rose from 1980 until he retired in 2016. He was a master carpenter and skilled mechanic, skills he learned from his father, he loved to work on cars, build houses, or work on home improvement projects. Aside from enjoying getting his hands dirty he loved being on the water fishing, outdoors hunting, and if you were fortunate enough to experience, he was a talented country singer. John was a joy to be around, with his practical jokes and beautiful singing voice. He will be truly missed, but we know that heaven gained a wonderful treasure. 

Memorial service will be on August 24th, 10:30 am-12:00 pm, in lieu of flowers we ask that you make a donation to an Alzheimer’s research organization of your choice.
