John Dellan Provost, Sr.

John Dellan Provost, Sr., of Groves, Texas passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 at Pelican Bay Assisted Living in Beaumont. John was born January 25, 1931 in Port Arthur, Texas and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Lamar University with an accounting degree and was employed by Gulf Oil with 35 years of service in the accounting department. He was a member of Groves Knights of Columbus Council #3491. John proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Pansy Provost. Survivors include three daughters, Debra Brown of Maryland, Roxanne Willey and husband Van of Angleton, and Lea Provost of Angleton; son, John Dellan Provost, Jr. and wife Jan of Groves; sister, Mary Charrier of Colorado; brother, Jack Provost of Arkansas; five grandchildren, Ryan Brown, J. D. Willey, Zachary Willey, Stephanie Provost Aylor and Katelyn Provost. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend J. C. Coon officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with a 6:00 p.m. rosary service at the funeral home.
