John "Bill" Raggio

John "Bill" Raggio, 82, of Nederland, Texas passed away Monday, February 24, 2014. John was born July 16, 1931 in Port Arthur, Texas to John E. Raggio and Margaret Workman Raggio. He was a lifelong area resident and attended Magnolia Assembly of God Church. He retired as an operator after 41 years of service from Texaco Chemical and was a retired member of OCAW. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Velma Raggio of Nederland; daughter, Janet Whitton Daugherty and husband David of Port Neches; two sons, Reverend Ken Raggio of Nederland, David Raggio and wife Brenda of Pearland; sister, Norma Bedair and husband Wallace of Groves; six grandchildren, Brian Raggio and wife Aimee, Chad Raggio and wife Ashley, Sara Esteva and husband German, Rebekah Bernardini and husband Reverend John Bernardini II, Daniel Whitton, Stephen Whitton; and five great-grandchildren, Ashley Raggio, Morgan Raggio, Cole Raggio, Grant Raggio and Diane Esteva. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Frank Williams and Reverend Brent Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Special thank you to New Century Hospice and Dr. Ken Kaissi.

I worked with John for several years, he displayed Christian principles and love. I know he will be missed, but is now rewarded.

I am so sorry for your loss. Grandpa Raggio was a great man and a wonderful role model for his children and grandchildren. I know my grandchildren, Ashley, Morgan and Cole loved him very much.

So very sorry to hear about Bill passing away. I know he is in a better place now. Bill and his lovely wife had a lake house at Rayburn 100 accross the street from my parent's lake house. Bill will truly be missed by many Family & Friends. My Families prayers are with the Ragio Family during this time.
