John Carlton Reese, 75, of Groves went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2014 after a short illness. John was born November 26, 1938 in Caldwell, Texas to Ralph D. and Cora Lee Reese. He was retired from Neches Butane/Huntsman and a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church of Port Neches, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2461 of Port Neches. John was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked at Neches Butane/Huntsman for nearly 40 years. Visitation will be held at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. with a Vigil service at 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Monsignor Benny Patillo officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Brook R. Hartwig and Robert D. Reese. He is survived by his wife, Rose LaPoint Reese of Groves; daughter, Gina Riley Durham and husband Frank of Groves; daughter, Terri Riley of Groves; two grandchildren, Daniel Durham and wife Jessica of San Antonio and Lauren Durham of Groves; and one great-grandchild Daniel Jacob Durham; sister, Maureen Alber of Wildwood; two brothers, M.L. "Bubba" Reese and wife Billie F. of Port Neches, Darrell G. Reese and wife Rosalie of Port Neches. Family members will be serving as pallbearers.

I worked with John at Neches Butane in the 80's and 90's. John was always very fair and helpful. May he rest in peace.
