John "J.W." Robinson

John “J.W.” Robinson, 70, of Groves, Texas passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021 in Port Arthur, Texas. J.W. was born in Port Arthur on December 2, 1950 to the late Paul Robinson and Mary Hebert.

J.W. worked as an operator for Valero for 33 years until his retirement. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and TawTaw, his grandchildren were his life. J.W. also loved hunting, cowboy movies and the Texas Longhorns. He will be truly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 33 years, Freddie Ledger Robinson; his children, Jason Frioux and his wife Stacey, Ronny Robinson, Lindsey Frioux, and Johnny Robinson and his wife Laura; his grandchildren, Noah Frioux, Jaci Frioux, Rainey Frioux, Cole Robinson, Max Brown, Kennedy Tomlinson, Kendall Frioux, Brody Frioux-Braus, Emily Robinson, and Austin Robinson; his brother, Ronald Robinson and his wife Sandra; his sisters, Gail Tahaney and her husband Stedman, and Sandy Guidry and her husband James; and numerous, loving nephews, nieces and extended family.

J.W. is preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Craig Tahaney.

A gathering to celebrate J.W.’s life will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 9:30a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 11:00a.m. Funeral Services will directly follow the Rosary at 11:30a.m.
