John Wilder Bethel

John Wilder Bethel 91, formerly of Fouke, Arkansas and Nederland, Texas passed away Friday December 22, 2017 at Hospice of Texarkana. John was born March 12, 1926 in Clebit, Oklahoma to William Jennings Bethel and Mary Kincaid Bethel. He was recently a resident of The Magnolia Memory Care, in Texarkana. John Retired from the KCS Railroad in 1987. John was preceded in death by his wife, Dortha Edna Bethel, daughter Velma Bethel, sister Wanda Lou Castle, and brother Stanley Bethel. Survivors include his daughter Patricia Ferguson and husband Mike of Lumberton, Texas; son James Bethel and wife Teresa of Texarkana, Texas; sister Mildred Baxter of Fouke, Arkansas; four brothers Chester Bethel and wife Jan of Nederland, Texas; Benny Bethel and wife Ann of Kerrville, Texas; Bill Bethel, Jr. of Houston, Texas; Don Bethel and wife Patsy of Bossier City, Louisiana; 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5 to 8 December 26, 2017 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 27, 2017 at 10 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches Texas Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
