Johnny Eugene Bailey, 66, of Nederland, Texas, passed away February 18, 2016 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Johnny was born August 25, 1949 in Nederland, Texas to the late Homer Bailey and Ella Inez DeFee Bailey.

He is survived by his brothers, David Bailey of West Orange, TX, Jack Bailey of Nederland; sister, Dema Hubert of LaBelle, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Johnny is preceded in death by his sisters, Theresa Bailey and Mary Stimpson; his brothers, William Bailey and Homer Bailey.

A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 12 to 1 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Hodges officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

I also graduated high school with Johnny and remember that he was a very nice and respectful person with a kind soul. He didn't talk much, but he would smile shyly when someone smiled at him and said hi. I hope life was good to him.

I went to school and graduated with Johnny. I remember him as a nice and kind person, but he was very quiet and not very outgoing ! I am so sorry to hear of his passing . My prayers go out to his family !
