Johnny Richard Horton, JR.

Johnny Richard Horton Jr., of Port Acres, Texas passed away December 30, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Johnny was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on December 13, 1952 to Johnny Richard Horton Sr. and Dorothy Ann Lovelace.

Mr. Horton proudly served his country as a Marine in the United States Armed Forces. After serving his country he went on to work as a lab operator for Chevron where he retired after 30+ years. Johnny was an avid fisherman and loved to travel. One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his family, and especially his grandchildren. Mr. Horton was a loving father, grandfather, and above all, a loving husband to his wife Denise.


Those left to cherish Johnny’s memory are his wife of 25 years, Denise Horton; daughter-in-law, Tiffany Horton; children, Stacy Migues and husband Mike, and Cristina LeBlanc and husband Steven; grandchildren, Nathan Horton, Kenley Migues, Riley Horton, and Katie Migues; brother, Brian Horton; nephew, Samuel Horton; close friend and sister-in-law, Judy McDougle; and brother-in-law, Neal McDougle and wife Jan.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Melancon’s Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. A private family graveside service will be held following the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in Mr. Horton’s honor be made to the Wounded Warrior Project – PO Box 758533, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8533.

Due to Coronavirus-19 we request that friends and relatives practice social distancing while attending Johnny’s visitation and funeral. All guests are required to wear a face mask before entering Melancon’s Funeral Home.
