Johnny Walton (J. W.) Sparks Johnny Walton (J. W.) Sparks entered into the gates of Heaven on November 4, 2010. He was born on July 6, 1949 in Port Arthur, Texas. Johnny retired from Verizon as National Service Manager after 32 years of service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Port Acres. He was an avid golfer and liked fishing at Toledo Bend Lake.Johnny had many friends and liked to joke and entertain friends with humorous stories. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Manon and George McFarland, and his sister, Lisa McFarland Prosperie. He is survived by his wife Mary, of Port Arthur; one brother, Jerry Sparks of Groves; one son, Chris Sparks and wife, Laura of San Antonio; two daughters, Jolee and Terri Sparks of Nacogdoches; one granddaughter, Ashley Sparks and one grandson, Caleb Sparks of San Antonio. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. A visitation for friends and family will be held at Levingston Funeral Home on Monday, November 8 from 4 8 p.m. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 9 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. The family extends thanks and appreciation for his healthcare to Dr. Malaty and the nurses and staff at St. Mary Hospital and to Odyssey Hospice. A special thanks is extended to Brother Jeff Bell, Pastor and members of Calvary Baptist Church for providing lawn care and help throughout Johnny's confinement, and food and refreshments for the family. J.W. was a past co-worker of mine, he always had tons of jokes to tell you and always a hug when you were feeling down..My prayers are with his family and friends. J.W. you will be greatly missed friend! R.I.P.
