Jonathon Luis Rodriguez, 34, of Nederland joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday, September 2, 2022. Jonathon was born November 28, 1987, in Port Arthur, Texas to Michelle Durso and Juan (Johnny) Rodriguez.
Jonathon loved the Lord and passionately read his bible daily. He was a graduate of Nederland High School and received an Associate’s Degree from San Jacinto College. During Jonathon’s high school years, he played football and baseball. Jonathon was a self-made entrepreneur and a knowledgeable auto mechanic, who loved working on all makes and models of trucks. Jonathon enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his friends. Jonathon never met a stranger and always made people feel welcomed.
Those left to cherish Jonathon’s memory are his father, (Johnny) Juan M. Rodriguez; mother, Michelle Durso; sister, Nicole Salas; paternal grandparents, Luis and Maria Rodriguez; and maternal grandmother, Jacqueline Durso; uncles, Joe L. Rodriguez, Victor M. Rodriguez and his wife, Stephanie; Marco A. Rodriguez, Tony Durso and his wife, Kathy; and Joseph Durso, II; aunts, Rosa Linda Webb and her husband, Danny; Kathy Butaud, Lori Durso, Gaynelle Arney, Kim Durso, Buffy Pruitt and her husband, Lamar; Cathy Brown and her husband, Danny; and Debbie Durso; cousins, Ashley D. Smith, Blake D. Webb, Carol Jo Rodriguez, Amber Nicole Rodriguez and Victor Matthew Rodriguez; and a host of extended family and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 12, 2022, at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m., at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
