Jo Nell Hebert

Jo Nell Hebert, a loving and vibrant soul, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2026, in Groves, Texas. Born on April 25, 1932, in Sagerton, Texas, Jo Nell embraced life with a warm heart and an adventurous spirit. She was a devoted homemaker who created a nurturing and loving environment for her family.

Jo Nell was an avid outdoors person who found immense joy in nature, particularly through her love of fishing. She also enjoyed dancing and going to the casino. Beyond her passion for the outdoors, Jo Nell also had a diverse professional life, working for a short time as a gemologist at a jewelry store and as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Fred and Gertrude Thames; her husband, Harry Hebert; and her daughter, Darla Schwartz. Her memory will be cherished by her surviving family: her sons, Kevin Hebert of Groves, Robin Hebert of Groves, and Bobby Andress of Nederland; and many grandchildren , great grandchildren and great great grand children.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Jo Nell's life will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas.
