Jorge "Mike" Villarreal

1958 ∼ 2025

Jorge Micheal Villarreal of Port Neches, Texas went on to be with his Lord and Savior on February 12, 2025, at the age of 66 years old. Mike was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 13, 1958, to Christina Collins and Jorge A. Villarreal. He was preceded in death by both of his parents. Mike is survived by his wife Sherry Villarreal, sisters Debra Collins, Heather Allen (and husband Amos Allen) and Melissa Glacken, brother Mark Glacken, uncles Walter Conrad and Raymond Conrad, sister-in law Belinda McCain (and husband Larry McCain), brother-in law Tom Ivey (and wife Laury Ivey), nieces Alexis Nicole Allen, Lauren Nicole Ivey and Rachel M. McCain, nephews Dusty Vogel, Devin Vogel and Thomas Ivey, III, great nieces Ava McCain-Smith and Violet McCain-Walton and great nephew Hayden Snider.

Michael graduated from Walkersville High School in 1975. Michael participated in basketball and track/field during High School. Mike was well liked by all, and you could not miss his infectious laugh. Mike then went on to join the United States Marine Corp. After the marines, Mike worked in various fields and ended up in Galveston Texas welding on ships.

While in Galveston, he met the love of his life Sherry in 1986. They immediately began dating and were eventually married on September 18, 1993, having been married for 31 years before being separated by death. Mike and Sherry often revisited Galveston over the years. Mike thought the world of Sherry, which was evident in his actions and support. And Sherry will miss him dearly.

Though Mike held various jobs over the years he was a pipefitter by trade. Mike and Sherry traveled some while he went around the country building new homes. They eventually returned to Port Neches, Texas and Mike worked in the Mid- County and surrounding areas for the majority of his career. Mike worked for Conex and other construction companies but spent most of his career working for Echo Construction. Mike eventually retired from Echo and spent time with Sherry and his family at Village Creek, Rayburn and other areas enjoying the outdoors.

While Mike and Sherry did not have any children, they both loved children and enjoyed watching some of their nieces and nephews participate in sports and other activities as the kids never did anything wrong. To say Mike had a love for animals was an understatement. He and Sherry had numerous dogs over the years and spoiled each and every one of them including their current dog named Maggie. And he loved all of his cats as well. Mike also loved working in the yard planting flowers and his spring garden. Mike always supported his hometown teams as he loved watching the Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles. One thing is for certain, Mike had a BIG heart. And if you knew Mike, that was readily apparent. Mike will be greatly missed by all his family of friends. May God bless you brother!

A visitation of family and friends will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland located at 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, TX 77627.
