Jose Angel Gamez Jr., 69, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on August 21, 1951 to Jose Angel Gamez Sr. and Fidencia Sifuentes Gamez.
Jose was a lifelong area resident and was self- employed as a shrimper and fisherman. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
A memorial service for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Val Verde Baptist Church in Groves, Texas.
Jose is survived by his sons Andrew Gamez and Brandon Gamez of Port Arthur, step-daughter, Nicole Myers and husband Matt of Phillipsburg, Pennsylvania; sisters, Millie Wilburn of Corpus Christi, Sajauna Garcia of Dayton, Esther Lopez of Mont Belvieu, Anita Lavarreda of Mesquite and Adelina Gonzales of Corpus Christi.
Family and friends wishing to make a memorial contribution may donate to Val Verde Baptist Church, 3900 Cleveland Avenue, Groves, Texas 77619.
