Joseph Charles Breaux, 93, a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away at his home in Nederland, Texas on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Joseph led a life filled with dedication and love for his family and friends.
Born in Port Arthur, Texas, Joseph's journey began on December 22, 1930. He served his country in the United States Air Force with honor and pride and he retired from Gulf Oil as a maintenance supervisor after 35 years of faithful service.
Joseph was not only known for his work ethic but also for his exceptional skills as a carpenter. His hand crafted wonders will be remembered for generations to come. He was always so willing to work overtime and do whatever he needed to do to provide the best for his family. A true sports enthusiast, Joseph excelled not only as a beloved coach but also as an outstanding baseball player, known for his skills in the batter's box.
Known for his easygoing nature and willingness to help others, Joseph touched the lives of many. His colleagues cherished him for his easy-going personality and good spirit. He brought laughter and camaraderie wherever he went.
Joseph Charles Breaux is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Molly Breaux; loving son, Jody Charles Breaux and his wife, Kandice of Nederland, Texas; cherished grandchildren, Bryce Breaux and his wife, Katelyn of Atascocita, Texas, Christopher Breaux of Santa Rosa, California, Eleni Breaux of Austin, Texas, and John "Yonny" Breaux of San Diego, California; and great-grandson, Emmett Clay Breaux of Atascocita, Texas.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Leon and Anna Lee Breaux; son, Robert "Bobby" Breaux; brother, Robert L. Breaux; half-brother, Claude Moore; and sisters, Dorothy Cross and Yvonne Powell.
Joseph's life will be honored and celebrated through two events. First, a gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Melancon~Levingston Funeral Home, in Nederland, Texas. Second, by the funeral service with full military honors at 12:00p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024, also at Melancon~Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland, Texas.
Joseph's legacy of love, hard work, and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. We will always remember him for the light he brought into our lives.
