Joseph Charles, "J.C." Queen, 94, of Groves, Texas passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at D.C.H. Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was born on October 28, 1923 in Port Arthur, Texas to Walter Sylvester Queen and Olive Daisy Marie Barcus Queen. J.C. was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and a member of Procter Baptist Church since 1946. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. J.C. was retired from Gulf States Utility Company-Entergy after 39 years of service. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Jeremy Smith, Reverend Phil Croft and Dr. Rick Erwin officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be Monday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. J.C. was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Woodall Queen, his parents, his brother, Walter Queen, and his sister, Billie Saltkield. He is survived by two daughters, Kay Shaw and her husband Doug of Hull, TX; Denise Smith and husband Steven of Tuscaloosa, AL;, and son, Ted Queen and wife Jill of Luling, LA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Cathy Rainey (Andy), Rori Shaw, Jeremy Smith (Christy), Brian Smith (Alisha), Bradley Smith, John Queen (Ann Marie), Carly Benner (Chet), seven great grandchildren and a brother, Mike Queen (Pam). Others include his "adopted families": Phil and Karen Croft and family; and Robert and Richelle Davis and family. Pall Bearers will be Jeremy Smith, Brian Smith, Bradley Smith, Andy Rainey, John Queen, Chet Benner, and Eric Wilson. Honorary Pall Bearers are Conrad Partida, Jim Young, and Dan Prate. Memorial gifts may be sent to Procter Baptist Church in Port Arthur, TX.
