Joseph Villier Comeaux, 83, of Port Arthur, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. He was born in Coteau, LA on July 19, 1929 to the late Joseph Remy Comeaux and Clemena Landry. Joe proudly served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He moved to the area in 1975 and was a barber and was very active in his community.Joe was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches where he was a lector, usher, Eucharistic Minister and member of the choir. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus 2461 in Port Neches, where he served as Grand Knight and on other committees. He also was a member of the American Legion in Westlake, LA.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. with the Msgr. Bennie Patillo officiating. Burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park under the ion of Melancons Funeral Home in Nederland, with a gathering of family to be held on Monday, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He is survived by daughter, Clem Chesson of Beaumont son, Joseph Joey Comeaux of Knoxville,TN and son, Marty Remy Comeaux of Westlake, LA. brother, William Bill Comeaux and his wife Verna of Groves Joe is also survived by his seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, 3 daughters, one son, 8 brothers, and 2 sisters.
