I luckily had Ms. Russell in 3rd grade. At that time, I struggled academically and she was the first teacher that made me believe I could do anything if I set a goal and stuck to it. She remained my favorite teacher through the years and she remained active and connected with me even into my college years. She took a C student and molded me into a Cum Laude graduate. What an amazing teacher and role model. I will miss her immensely and will never forget her. Fly high beautiful lady.

Joyce was an amazing Christian, person, and fellow educator. I remember all of the summer workshops she put on for the teachers. She made them so much fun! I truly admired her. She always had kind words of praise and encouragement. I will miss her. Linda Matlock

Joyce taught both my sons, Steven Shane Hays and Benjamin James Hays. She was an excellent teacher! She also tutored me as a new teacher at Hillcrest. She was hired in 1972 and I was hired in 1975. Joyce attended our 50th wedding anniversary party and I took some great pictures of her with the boys. She was truly a saint of God and I loved her! Helen Hays
