Joycie (Joy) Lee Mackey Burke passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018 in Port Arthur, Texas. She was born March 11, 1932 in Port Arthur and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1950. Joy was a commercial artist and over the years worked for The Lake Charles American Press, The Port Arthur News, The Mid County Chronicle and was the former publisher of the Hardin County News. She was preceded in death by her parents, James L. and Bessie Hebert Mackey and three daughters, Karen Joi Burke, Cherryll Burke Las Sabe and Karla Burke Gaspard. Joy is survived by her three daughters, Katherine Burke of Port Neches, Gail Kimmons of Bridge City and Khristine Trahan and husband Kenneth of Johnson Bayou, LA, sister, Gail Harper and husband Buddy of Winnie, ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. After cremation and private family service Joy will be laid to rest next to her daughter Karla at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
