Juan M. Castillo, 80, of Groves, TX succumbed to MDS/Leukemia on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 surrounded by his family at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Memorial City, Texas. He was born on December 26, 1936 to the late Alejandra and Juan C. Castillo in Alice, TX. Juan was a graduate of Alice High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a machinist at Texaco Chemical Company and Huntsman until his retirement and was a member of the American Legion Post #493.
Juan is survived by his companion, Diane Head; sons, Daniel (m. Joseph Castillo) and Samuel Castillo; daughters, Patricia Castillo, Noemi (m. Leonard Lyons), Christina Castillo, Margarita Colvin, Carolina Castillo, and Magdalena Dugas; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Jose Castillo, Ramon Castillo, Sylvester Castillo, Jose Angel Castillo; sister, Isabel Gonzalez; and numerous nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maria Elidia Garza Castillo; grandsons, Chris Stewts and John Castillo; brothers, Frank Castillo, Blas Catillo and sister, Elva Cadena.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post #493, 922 Nederland Avenue, Nederland, TX. The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Memorial Hermann Hospital. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to Leukemia Foundation of Texas
