She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to watch her grandchildren in every school activity in which they performed, especially the Port Neches High School band and football team. She was a good cook, except for rice-a-roni! She loved any artsy type activity-sewing, painting, crocheting, word puzzles. She was true to her generation and really loved Elvis. I didn't know Ms. Nita for long but I know she was an outstanding, caring, & compassionate person. She did not know my mother, however, she knew of her. She took the time & energy from her "not so easy" day, while she was ill herself, to visit my mother in intensive care before her death. That made a huge impression on me & I will ever be grateful. I do wish I could have known more of her. I know she was a good woman. You not only have a personal loss but I feel the world itself will feel a loss as well.

You had such a big heart that you chose to be my mother. You took me in as your own flesh and blood. In that and as you kept family that was removed by divorce you taught me that LOVE is thicker than blood. You gave me a life that I otherwise wouldn't have. I can never put into words my gratitude and love for you. You are and always will be my mamma. I will cherish every moment we had together. I know I will see you again and that you will always be near. I LOVE you mamma. Forever and always.

You were always so good to me when I was little, except the time I wouldn't stand still on the chair when you were trying to dress me. Couldn't help it...the radio was on. I was like 3 or 4 years old. But you always use to let me brush your hair. You will always be in my memories.
