Judge Morris Drew McCall, Sr., 90, of Port Neches, Texas passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. Morris was born February 13, 1928 in Angelina County, Texas to Thomas A. McCall and Phillippa (Sug) Davis McCall. He served his country in the US Air Force from 1946 to 1949. Morris graduated from Stephen F. Austin with a degree in Accounting in 1951 and the University of Texas Law School in 1954. After graduation, Morris started his career as Assistant City Attorney of Beaumont, Texas. He retired from Ameripol Synpol in 1988 with 30 years of service and from the City of Port Neches as the beloved Municipal Judge after 41 years. He was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church Port Neches where he served as a church and district Lay Leader for 30 years, and a member of Fidelis Sunday School Class, which he referred to as "The Class". Morris was a member of the Port Neches Rotary Club with 30 years of perfect attendance. He was an active member of Port Neches Chamber of Commerce where he planned and led the Easter Sunrise Service for many years. They honored him this year by renaming Easter Sunrise Service to "Judge Morris McCall Easter Sunrise Service". He was very involved with Port Neches Christmas Parades. Morris and Dorothy met while square dancing in 1954 and were married in 1956. They continued to square dance for many years. Morris was raised in Diboll, Texas where he always said "Diboll, where Jesus has his summer home". If you knew Morris, his love for God, family and helping others was what filled his heart with love. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m at First United Methodist Church in Port Neches with Reverend Michael Peschke officiating under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home Port Neches. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Port Neches. Morris was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Bob McCall and foster brother, Nelson Massingill. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy McCall of Port Neches, Texas; daughter, Ann Hebert and husband Rex of Katy, Texas; son, Morris Drew McCall, Jr. and wife Lisa of Orangefield, Texas; four grandchildren, Cody Hebert, Tyler Hebert, Emily McCall, and Katey McCall and a host of family and friends.
