Judith Johnson

1945 ∼ 2025

Judith Johnson passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025 after battling COPD for years. She was born on October 2, 1945, in Port Arthur, Texas and was the fourth daughter of Mitchell and Clara Bess Johnson. Her remaining living sibling is Anna Collida . She is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Glenda Buxton and Dot Barbay.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved her family very much and will be immensely missed. Judi graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1964. Judi was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church and participated in numerous Bible Studies and treasured the many friendships she formed as a member of that church. The highlight of her week was when she was strong enough to physically attend the service in person.

Judi treasured her time with loved ones. She loved her time with her son, JJ Jones, his wife, Alexis and her many grandchildren. JJ and Alexis would make it a priority to bring the youngest two grandchildren to the nursing home frequently for visits! Judi would look forward to that time with the boys! Judi also kept track of all of her grandchildren, including Jeremy, Amber, and husband Ryan, Dakota, Brookleigh, Landyn, Matthew, Ellie, Kannon and Journey. Too many to name, Judi also treasured her nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Judith will be remembered with a visitation on July 25, 2025 beginning at 3:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. to be held at Fellowship Baptist Church, 1315 South 27th Street, Nederland, Texas 77627

Judi will be missed beyond imagination by hundreds of family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Fellowship Baptist Church.

What can I say? I'll miss my friend. She brought out the best in those touched by her earthly life. I'm so grateful for her unconditional love. I'll see her again, because she's where I want to be. Praise God her sorrows on earth are no more, and there's only joy.
