Julia, a woman of faith. She stood by me when I was so sick and tried to leave this world. Others walked away not trying to understand. Not Julia. She prayed with me, fed me God's Word and loved me back like a true friend would do. She wasn't selfish, always praying for others. I will miss our conversations about our granddaughters, our children and memories we loved. I'm thankful you are resting with your Lord today. Well Ju, I'm drinking a cup of McDonald's coffee thinking of you and missing a morning prayer with you. I will continue to pray for your beautiful family. I love you Ju. You always will be my true friend. Patricia "Pea" Ortiz Coffman NHS '70

Julia and I were good friends in junior high and high school enjoying slumber parties, dances and of course being in the Westenaires together. Loved her sense of humor. Her Facebook post always made me laugh. Sending my condolences to her family. I know her sweet Christian spirit will be missed. Love you Julia, Donna Welch Patton

Julia was such a sweet girl. I remember her kindness. This was in the Bulldog Beat dated March 6, 1970 when she was in Photoflash.

It's difficult to find the heartfelt words to describe the loss of our sweet, caring friend, Ju. We will forever cherish the daily messages or texts, surprise gift deliveries, advice, prayer partner, and her loyal friendship. Thanks so much for your unconditional love, Ju. You have been made whole again and for that, we will rejoice! Gloria Bryce Knopp Marilyn Chatelain Harrell - The NHS Class of 1970 will never forget you!

Mrs. Gribnau was like a second mom to me. I spent the night with Amy many weekends throughout middle and high school. Mrs. Gribnau took us shopping on the best trips, and took us to Dallas on my first airplane ride for a shopping trip. She was one of the kindest and sweetest women I knew. I will miss her greatly. Love, Cheree’

I have known Julia (Ann) since I was 8. We shared lots of fun times, stories and memorial times! Not going to be the same and going to miss you my friend. I know you are in the Presence of our Lord and I will see you again one day! Love you!
